General information

Milan Central Station, Milano Centralo, is one of Italy's busiest train stations, handling approximately 120 million passengers annually. From this station international trains run to for example Paris, Nice and Basel, but there are also local trains and intercities to several Italian cities. The station is located on the Piazza Duca d'Aosta in the city center, near many attractions, such as the Duomo. The impressive station was built in 1864, but subsequently extended and adapted several times.

Transportation

Do you want to visit Milan? Taxis are available outside the Arrivals and Departures halls. Regional and city buses depart from the station and there are shuttle buses running to the airport. The station is connected with two of Milan's three subway lines. Or do you prefer to rent a car and explore the city and its surroundings on your own? On the ground floor you'll find the car rental companies Avis, Maggiore, and Europcar. There are several parking garages nearby the station.

Services

You can buy train tickets from ticket offices and ticket machines. On the ground floor you can find an information desk for information about arrivals and departures, to reserve tickets, and special offers. There's a tourist center near platform 14, but the station also houses several travel agencies, a police station, and a post office. There are restrooms and facilities for the disabled and on platform 3 you can find an office providing assistance to travelers. There's a bank on the ground floor, near the Piazza IV Novembre. On platforms 11 and 20 you can change money and there's an ATM in the basement. A first-aid station and a pharmacy can be found on platform 21 and there's a Wi-Fi spot on the square in front of the station.

Restaurants

The station offers a wide range of eating and drinking facilities, ranging from cafés, bars and ice-cream parlors to a supermarket and delis and from pizzerias to fast-food restaurants and sandwich bars. Soft-drink and snack dispensers can be found on each platform.

Shops

There's plenty of choice ranging from accessories to bags, clothes and shoes by top designers, but also books, electronics, and toys; you name it and you'll find it here. The shops are open all year round from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
