London Heathrow Airport in a nutshell

In terms of the number of passengers, Heathrow is Europe's biggest airport. The airport is located on the edge of London, 24 kilometres to the west of the city centre. There are four terminals. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are connected. Terminal 4 can be reached with the free Heathrow Express train. In 2008, a new terminal will be opened on the west side of the airport. The terminal will not be finished before 2015, and Heathrow will then have a capacity of 90 million passengers a year.

There are train stations in the central hall of terminals 1, 2 and 3 and in Terminal 4. In addition, London is easy to reach by car, although the roads around London and the airport are very busy.

Around the airport there are many hotels. From Terminals 1, 2 and 3 there is a shuttle bus to the largest hotels in the area.
Heathrow offers you everything you can expect one of the largest airports in the world to offer: a large number of shops, (snack) bars, cafés and restaurants in all the terminals.
The airport offers extensive business facilities. It has, among other things, 20 meeting rooms and a conference room. In addition, many airlines have their own lounges. In all the terminals there are ATM machines and exchange offices. There is wireless Internet and there is an Internet café in Terminal 4. Also, there are children's play areas, a First Aid station (which can be contacted by telephone) and a pharmacy. The airport is very accessible to disabled people.
