London City Airport in a nutshell

London City Airport is the youngest of the airports around London. It was opened in 1987 and it is located in the eastern part of the city. The airport is growing steadily and it now processes about two million passengers a year, primarily business travellers.

There is an automatic subway system connecting the airport with, among other places, the Docklands. After the arrival of this network, the shuttle bus was terminated, but there are still two local bus connections to and from the airport.

There are no hotels at the airport, but there are several nearby. The airport has a good supply of restaurants, (snack) bars and cafés. There are also many shops. There is even a free service to have your things delivered to your car. There is a Business Centre with facilities for a maximum of 120 people. In addition, there are meeting rooms and private offices equipped with the usual business paraphernalia. Other services at the airport are: banks, exchange offices, ATM's and wireless Internet. In addition, there is a First Aid station and a shoe shine service on the ground floor of the terminal building.
