Rent a minivan for 7 people (or 9 people)

Space and flexibility when you rent a van

Going out with the whole family—and Grandma and Grandpa are coming along, too. How fun! But you usually need two cars for that, otherwise it gets really cramped. Not so fun! Why not rent a car that fits 7 people? Now that’s what I call a fun outing! A minivan is also a great solution when you’re going to a soccer game or a concert with friends. And how about renting a 7-seater for vacation? Not only will everyone have plenty of room, but you can also fit a lot of luggage in a minivan. By the way, there are also larger vans available for rent, with up to 9 seats. And you know what’s best? You can drive one of these minivans with your regular Class B driver’s license.

Renting a van

Should you rent a 7-seater or a 9-seater?

Which van you choose to rent depends, of course, primarily on the number of people traveling with you. But don’t let that be your only consideration. If you’re going to a concert with a group of seven friends, renting a 7-seater is sufficient. But if you’re going on vacation with seven people, it might turn out to be just a bit too cramped for all your luggage. The nice thing about a passenger van is that the back row of seats is flexible. You can fold down one or more seats, creating (even) more space for luggage. This is ideal, for example, for extensive sports equipment or if you’re bringing a lot of camping gear. Traveling with seven people and a lot of luggage? Then opt to rent a 9-seater passenger van.

Renting a minivan with an additional driver

If you rent a 7-seater or 9-seater, only one person needs to have a driver’s license. But it’s nice to be able to take turns driving the rental van. It’s also safer on long trips. Arranging for an additional driver is very easy. Sometimes a second driver is already included in the rental price; other times, it’s an optional extra. If you check the “Includes second driver” option in our filter system, you’ll only see passenger vans for rent where you don’t have to pay anything extra for this. If you haven’t checked that option, you can add an additional driver when making your reservation. In that case, you’ll need to pay the fee on-site.

Please note that only the main driver’s credit card (the person in whose name the van is rented) is accepted for the security deposit. Also make sure the additional driver registers when picking up the rented passenger van. This is important for insurance purposes. Sometimes a rental company overlooks the fact that there is a second driver and forgets to register them. So be sure to take care of this yourself.

More Drivers for the Rental Van

If you’re traveling with a large group, it’s quite possible that not just two, but three or four people have a driver’s license and want to get behind the wheel. You can’t arrange this online in advance, but you can do so on-site at the rental company’s counter. You’ll pay a few euros extra per day for this. Make sure all drivers meet the rental company’s requirements—for example, that each driver has held a driver’s license for at least 1 or 2 years. All drivers of the rented van must also be able to provide valid identification, such as a passport or other form of ID.

Rent a passenger van for group trips

Renting a minivan is the perfect solution for all kinds of group trips. Want to go on a fun outing with the girls or attend your favorite team’s away game? Rent a minivan! Planning a weekend getaway with a group of friends or a trip to an amusement park with the whole family? A rental minivan is the solution! Organizing a birthday outing with your child’s friends? Rent a passenger minivan and you can transport all the kids easily and safely. A minivan with 7, 8, or 9 seats offers plenty of room for passengers and luggage and is much more convenient than public transportation.

Benefits of Renting a 7- or 9-Seater

When you rent a “regular” car for vacation, the question is always how much luggage it can hold. In practice, the available space is often quite limited. You won’t have that problem if you rent a passenger van, because it has more than enough room for suitcases and other luggage. For even more space, simply fold down one or more seats. While a “regular” car for five people can be quite cramped (especially on longer trips), a 7-seater offers plenty of comfort and space. Ample luggage space and comfortable seating make renting a minivan ideal for both long and short trips.

Renting a single minivan for 7 or 9 people isn’t just more fun—it’s also easier than driving two or more cars. You only need one driver, although on longer trips it’s advisable to have a second driver. Plus, everyone arrives at the destination at the same time, and you only have to find a parking spot for one vehicle. You avoid the stress of different drivers having to find parking spots and then search for each other.

Rental minivans have a sliding door on the side that provides access to the rear seats. This makes getting in and out much easier than with regular cars. That’s especially convenient for people with limited mobility. Furthermore, the driver sits higher in a minivan than in a regular car, giving them an excellent view of the road.

And, not least: you save time and money by renting a minivan for 7 or more people. Just think of the cost of buying train or bus tickets for that many people. Plus, with your rented passenger van, you can decide for yourself what time to leave and where to stop along the way. Renting a 7- or 9-seater isn’t just more cost-effective, but also much more flexible than any other option.

Rent a 7-, 8-, or 9-seater minivan

Rent a minivan to get the extra space you need. Our search system makes it very easy to find minivans for rent. You can filter the search results by “Vehicle Type,” which in this case is “Minivan.” You can then also filter by the number of seats. You can specify this exactly by setting the minimum number of seats equal to the maximum number—for example, 7—but you can also search more flexibly by choosing a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 9 seats.

Want to rent a van with complete peace of mind? Then choose passenger vans with our Worry-Free label. You’ll be able to drive an unlimited number of kilometers, and the deductible is covered. Plus, these rental vans come from providers that score at least a 7 on customer satisfaction.
