If you rent a 7-seater or 9-seater, only one person needs to have a driver’s license. But it’s nice to be able to take turns driving the rental van. It’s also safer on long trips. Arranging for an additional driver is very easy. Sometimes a second driver is already included in the rental price; other times, it’s an optional extra. If you haven’t checked that option, you can add an additional driver when making your reservation. In that case, you’ll need to pay the fee on-site.

Please note that only the main driver’s credit card (the person in whose name the van is rented) is accepted for the security deposit. Also make sure the additional driver registers when picking up the rented passenger van. This is important for insurance purposes. Sometimes a rental company overlooks the fact that there is a second driver and forgets to register them. So be sure to take care of this yourself.
