Cyprus Airport in a nutshell

Larnaca International Airport is usually simply referred to as Cyprus Airport. The airport of Larnaca is an important link in the air traffic between Europe and the Middle East. In addition, Cyprus itself is an important tourist destination. The airport annually processes over five million passengers, much more than it was designed to handle. It is expected that by the year 2009 the entire airport will have been renovated, with a new terminal and better access roads. The runway has already been extended and the new control tower has also been inaugurated.

The airport can be reached by car and bus. The city bus to the centre of Larnaca is only available on workdays.

There is a hotel reservation desk in the arrivals hall, the hotels themselves are located outside the airport grounds. At the airport there are a limited number of shops and restaurants. In the departure hall there is a Business Centre with fax and copying facilities, and computers with Internet access. In addition, there are three banks and a few ATM's. In the arrivals hall there is a post office and a First Aid station. The terminal is accessible to disabled people.
