Location information for Quito Airport

Quito Airport in a nutshell

Quito Airport is officially named after Antonio José de Sucre y de Alcalá, a leader in the struggle for independence against Spain.

The airport is situated in the northern suburbs of Ecuador's capital, at about 7 kilometers from Quito's center. There's no train connection with the airport and buses stop on the street outside the terminal. The airport is easily reachable by car via the Avenida de la Prensa.

The airport offers some restaurants, (snack) bars, and shops, but the number isn't overwhelming. There's a VIP lounge offering basic business services, but you can only find meeting space, conference rooms, and extensive business centers in the business hotels in the capital's center. Other facilities at Quito Airport include ATMs and exchange offices.

In the aviation industry Quito Airport is indicated by the abbreviations UIO (IATA airport code) and SEQU (ICAO airport code).
