Introduction
Saint-Raphaël is a seaside resort on the French Riviera. The center of the city has kept its century old charms: narrow streets with nice shops and restaurants, and the San Raféu church. The old lookout point (from the 13th century) has a beautiful view over the Mediterranean Sea. The port district, after the construction of the casino, was transformed into a trendy residential area.
Population
The city has almost 35,000 inhabitants. Along with Fréjus, which forms an agglomeration with Saint-Raphaël, 85,000 people live in this urban area.
Location
Saint-Raphaël is located in the south of France, on the Côte d'Azur, between St. Tropez and Cannes. It is wedged between the Esterel massif and the coast. West and northwest of Saint-Raphael (across the Pédégal river) lies the old town of Fréjus.

Tourism is of vital importance to Saint-Raphaël.
Airport
The airport of Nice lies 45 kilometers from Saint-Raphaël. Nice Côte d'Azur airport is easily accessible by rental car: from Saint-Raphaël follow the A8 to the northeast and then the N99 exit to the Airport. The exit is clearly indicated.
Public transportation
Saint-Raphaël has an excellent public bus system. The city buses run regularly. Furthermore, there are good bus connections to places nearby such as Aix-en-Provence, Nice and Draguignan.
