Car hire Hanover Station

General information

Hannover Hauptbahnhof is situated in Hanover's center and is the city's central station. Hannover Hbf is a stop-over for many ICE trains. The lines running from the north (Hamburg) to the south (Munich) stop here, but the ICE high-speed trains from the Ruhr Area and the Benelux in the direction of Berlin, also pass through this station. The current station dates back to 1879, although there was already a station at this location in 1843. In the last few years, the station has won several awards for its services and high quality.

Transportation

Do you want to visit Hanover? You can find a taxi stand on each side of the station, so on the Ernst-August-Platz and on the Raschplatz. Buses are leaving from the Ernst-August-Platz. Hanover's S-bahn departs from platforms 1, 2, 13, and 14. The subway (U-bahn) can be found on level -2. The A, B, and C lines stop here. You can also rent a car at Hanover Station. You can choose between the car rental companies Europcar, Sixt, and Hertz. All three can be found in the DB Reisezentrum inside the concourse. You can also rent a bike inside the concourse or on the Ernst-August-Platz in front of the station.

Services

You can go to the DB information desk for taxi vouchers, hotel reservations, lost luggage, and travel information. Hanover Station is fully equipped for the disabled. There are a bank, ATMs, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Restaurants

If you want to eat or drink something you'll have plenty of choice. There are several takeout restaurants, where you can quickly buy a sandwich. If you want to sit down for a meal, you can go to fish restaurant Bistro. There's also restaurant Sol y Mar, where you cannot only eat and drink something, but also get a massage.

Shops

There are some shops including a flower shop, a hairdresser, a drugstore, and a health store. For a larger selection you need to go to the Niki de Saint Phalle Promenade which can be reached directly from the station.
