General information

Santander is the capital of the region of Cantabria on Spain's north coast. Santander Station is situated on the Plaza de las Estaciones. FEVE and RENFE trains stop at this station. FEVE is in charge of the local trains in the Santander region. It's an easy way to travel to Bilbao and Oviedo. The RENFE trains bring you to locations further south in Spain. Santander is the terminus of the RENFE railroad lines. You can easily travel from Santander to Madrid and Valladolid.

Transportation

Do you want to visit the city's surroundings? Upon arrival at Santander Station, you'll find taxis just outside the station. They run 24 hours a day in the region. If you want to reserve a taxi, you can call Tel. 34 33 33 33. Santander's bus station lies opposite the train station on the Calle Navas de Tolosa. From here you can travel to numerous national (for example Madrid, Barcelona) and international destinations (Paris, Lyon, Brussels, etc.). Some city buses also stop here (lines 4, 14, 17, and 19). The ferry to Plymouth departs from the ferry terminal, which is located at walking distance from the station. Inside the concourse you can rent a car to explore the region at your own leisure. You can choose from National Altesa and Avis.

Services

Ticket offices at the station are open daily from 6.15 a.m. until 11 p.m. You can also buy tickets from a ticket machine. In additon there are restrooms, luggage trolleys, a phone booth, and a post office.

Restaurants and shops

There are a cafeteria and a bookstore inside the concourse. If you have more time available, it's recommended to go into town. The station is fairly central and you'll find restaurants and shops nearby.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

Only rental companies with a high level of customer satisfaction are eligible to be included in our Worry-Free selection. This rate includes excess cover and unlimited kilometres. Your vehicle will be provided and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. With a vehicle from our Worry-Free selection, you can travel with peace of mind and no hidden costs.

 How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).
