General information

Lucerne Station (Bahnhof Luzern) is a major hub in Switzerland, where many national and international trains pass through. The station is located on the Bahnhofplatz in the city center, close to the shores of Lake Lucerne.

Transportation

Do you want to visit Lucerne or its surroundings? You can find the taxi stand near the main entrance. Taxis are available and there's no need to make a reservation. The bus terminal is also located outside the station. Both city buses and regional buses leave here. Opposite the station you'll find the ferry terminal where you can take the ferry to Meggen, Vitznau, Schweizerhofquai and Buochs SGV.

Or do you prefer to rent a car in Lucerne? Take the main exit, turn right and follow the road until you reach the Radisson Hotel. Here you'll find a branch of Europcar. You can also rent a bike at Lucerne Station; you can choose from a wide selection of bikes. The bike rental company can be found inside the concourse.

The station has Wi-Fi. There are also a tourist office, ticket offices, a lost-and-found desk, an exchange office, and luggage lockers. In addition, the station is equipped for the disabled.

Restaurants

Lucerne Station offers a wide range of restaurants. There are a number of takeout restaurants where you can quickly buy a snack. The station also has a Burger King. If you prefer to dine sumptuously you can find restaurants on the second floor.

With over 40 stores you'll definitely find what you're looking for. There are for example a book store, a music store, jewelers, stores that sell shoes and bags, boutiques, a flower shop, drugstores, beauty shops, tobacconists, and a supermarket.
