Montréal- Trudeau Airport in a nutshell

The full name of the airport is Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, after a former Canadian prime-minister. The airport processes 11 million passengers a year. To handle the growth in the number of passengers, large constructions works are underway. After completion the airport will have an annual capacity of 20 million passengers.

When construction goes according to plan, the airport will have a fast train connection to the centre of Montréal in 2008. Until that time the centre of the city is easy to reach by car and bus.

At the airport there are no hotels, but there are several in the surrounding area. There are plenty of places to eat and drink at the airport, as well as plenty of shops, 33 in all throughout the terminals. The airport does not offer much yet by way of business facilities, but this will improve once the new Marriott Hotel will be completed in 2008. Other services that are available at the airport are: banks, exchange offices, ATM machines, a stillness room and a First Aid station. The airport is very accessible to disabled people.
