Toronto Pearson International Airport in a nutshell

Toronto Airport is the busiest airport of Canada. It annually processes some 30 million passengers. It was opened in 1939 under the name 'Malton Airport', and was renamed Toronto International Airport in 1960. Since then, its official name is Lester B. Pearson International Airport. To handle the growing flow of passengers, work is underway to expand and improve the airport. Work will be completed in 2008. The airport consists of three terminals, which are connected by a free LINK shuttle train. The airport is located 32 kilometres to the west of the centre of Toronto and it is easy to reach by car and bus. Sings along the motorways indicate which airlines use which terminals.

There is a hotel in the terminal building. Also, there are hotels just outside the airport area. There are many bars, cafés, restaurants and shops. The biggest concentrations are in terminals 1 and 3. There are business facilities in the Sheraton Hotel at the airport. The airport is very accessible to disabled people. In addition, the airport offers the following facilities: a bank, exchange offices, ATM's and a post office. There is also Internet access. Every terminal has its own medical service. There is even a psychologist for crisis situations.
