Riga Airport is by far the largest airport of the Baltic States and is often called one of the best in the region.
The airport is situated 10 kilometers west of the city center of Riga, Latvia's capital. There's no rail connection with the airport yet, but plans have been developed. There are also good bus connections, not only to the capital but also to the neighboring countries Estonia, Lithuania and Russia. The airport lies directly along the freeway A10 and is therefore easily reachable by car.
At present the airport offers few shops and eating and drinking facilities. However a new terminal is being built, increasing the number significantly. There's a VIP lounge which has some meeting rooms, but for extensive business facilities, including conference rooms, you need to turn to the business hotels in the capital. Plans have been developed to build a business center near the airport. Other facilities at Riga Airport include banks, exchange offices, ATMs, a post office, a pharmacy, and wireless internet.
In the aviation industry Riga Airport is indicated by the abbreviations RIX (IATA airport code) and EVRA (ICAO airport code).
